The first time I met Erica + Scott (in person) was on their wedding day. I had arrived to the venue earlier and a few minutes later they came strolling up together, hand in hand, Erica with her wedding dress slung over her shoulder, totally chill. I knew right away that their wedding day was going to be different and so much fun!
Their mantra for their wedding day vibes was “true to us”. They wanted the day to be about their relationship and their own styles. They wanted it to be fun, low key and focused on their love!
One of these elements including choosing to not do a bridal party, which allowed me to really focus on the two of them during their portraits.
I absolutely fell in love with Nostrano Vineyards during this time! There is so much variety and so many amazing photo spots and they were all so close. Looking through their photos it feels like we trekked all over to all these amazing and different locations - wildflower fields, orchards, vineyards, streams, willow trees - when in reality we didn’t walk more than 2 minutes!
Which is really good, considering how hot it was on this July day! As the ceremony time came, dark storm clouds started rolling in that looked like they might ruin their outdoor ceremony - but Erica and Scott weren’t phased by it at all. As Erica, so happily, walked down the aisle with her parents, she told her guests “Don’t worry, I told the rain to hold off!”. And it did - for a few more hours at least.
The barn for their reception was stunning; greenery chandeliers and bistro lights hung from the metal ceiling, and the long farm tables were covered in colorful wildflowers creating a very cool rustic and modern feel. The band was incredible and the dance floor was jam packed! Once everyone was sweaty from dancing, those storm clouds rolled back in, the skies opened up and dancing in the rain was the perfect way for everyone to cool off from the summer heat!
My favorite part about photographing weddings is that every single one is different. Often times couples can be overwhelmed by pinterest boards, bridal magazines, friends and family all telling them what they should be doing. I loved that Erica and Scott really made their day their own and stayed true to exactly what they wanted for their wedding!

Cassondre was the wedding photographer for our barn wedding at Nostrano Vineyards. Throughout the entire process she was professional, open and wonderful to work with. She made us feel extremely comfortable during the first look and couples photos before the ceremony. We have loved looking through all of our pictures – they turned out beautifully.
